Call Break is usually played with a standard deck of 52 cards without the jokers. The four players are divided into two partnerships, with partners sitting opposite each other. A dealer is chosen randomly among the players, who shuffle the deck and deal the cards clockwise to each player, one at a time, until all cards are dealt. Each player gets 13 cards, and the game consists of 13 rounds, with each player being the dealer for one of the rounds.
